Each project of the LLT Lab generally has two dimensions: the research and work performed within the Lab itself, and the collaborative applications that the Lab creates with its partners. Within the Lab, we make operational legal knowledge, as well as the protocols for making legal knowledge operational. That is, we create data for applications, while at the same time we develop protocols for how we make the data. These protocols are designed to be useful generally, as well as in a specific collaborative project with one or more of our partners. For example, our current collaborative projects involve automating argument mining in legal documents, automating document assembly for legal practice, and online legal education.
